When 1000hp Meets 28-Inch Rims, You Have Yourself a Sleeper

In the world of racing, you really have to be careful with what you want to line up against because in many situations, things are just simply not as they would seem. Just because a vehicle doesn’t look like it’s fast doesn’t mean that it’s slow by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, there are whole groups of people who have the sole purpose of making a vehicle fast that doesn’t necessarily look the part. With this sort of sleeper look, owners of these rides are able to more easily surprise opponents which can mean more wins and taking home more cash at the end of the day if there was money on the race.

A perfect example of this is when you stretch out your tires to fit 20+ inch wheels. Now, basically, broken down in the simplest of terms, the more sidewall that you have on your tire and more surface area that is connecting with the ground means that you’re going to gather more traction. This is normally done with a big, soft tire and a small wheel. Now, with a massive set of wheels on your car and stretched out skinny, hard tires, this isn’t necessarily going to be the easiest thing in the world to help aid traction. Therefore, you could see why cars like this might not look like they are necessarily the fastest. This is where the owners of these rides hop in and advantage because they most certainly are not piloting any kind of slouches when it comes time to race.

Check out the video below that shares a whole selection of cars that are sporting everything from 20-inch to 28-inch wheels as they dig down deep, somehow put together traction, and rocket their way down the track to passes that are quicker than anybody might’ve ever thought possible. This is the perfect way to roll up on race day and stomp just about anyone. I would venture to think that, while on these massive wheels, these guys are probably made quite a good amount of money in surprising people who thought that their cars would never hook.
