For plenty of gearheads, the idea of heading out to the Autobahn and being able rip on your car is absolutely heavenly. With long stretches of road that have no speed limit, one can only dream about being able to punish that throttle and make their machine accelerate to lengths that it hasn’t seen or simply would not be able to see over here in the United States. There’s just something about that area that just seems to have a certain mystique that draws us and makes us want to go experience it all for ourselves.

This time, we check out the story of a former member of the Air Force who just so happened to be stationed in Germany with his Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 that he took out to the stretch of road to have a little bit of fun with when he happened to run into a Porsche 911. From there, the rest is history and he explains it all to us as this wide open throttle fueled fun unfolds without having to look over his shoulder for a police officer. Afterward, he even gives us a rundown of how to share the joy of the ZR1 on the Autobahn with someone slightly older who he scared the life out of!

At the end of the day, you have to hear the details of the story for yourself to be able to truly appreciate it so head down to the video below and learn a little bit about what life is actually like over in Germany. After hearing about this one and how the Autobahn really works, do you think that you would want to head over there to experience the area for yourself? Does this seem like a trip that you’re ready to make? (with your favorite car coming along for the ride, of course)
